Camera Specifications

Chateau produces the traditional box-type camera in six-variants all with day/night capability. The general purpose cameras use “colour-kill” technology while the professional range uses moving optical filters where, in low light conditions, the colour filter is replaced by a blue-glass filter completely eliminating all colour and thus producing a crisp, clear B/W image. The benefits of the low power consumption of these cameras (an amazing 50mA) cannot be over-emphasized as this is up-to nine times lower than well-known opposition units (approx. 450mA). With very little heat generation the life-expectancy of these cameras, in comparison, is substantial. All cameras are supplied without lens and mounting bracket.

Indoor/Outdoor - These cameras are not weatherproof and need to be mounted in a waterproof housing for outdoor applications. Although every unit has day/night capability it is necessary to provide separate IR-lighting for night vision.

Functionality – Both general purpose units have BLC (back light compensation) and can be fitted with either a video or DC driver lens (mechanical iris) or a fixed focus lens when switched to electronic auto iris. The professional cameras include adjustable AWB (auto white balance) and ATW (auto tracking white balance), adjustable shutter speed, mechanical TDN (true day/night) and switch able WD (wide-dynamic).

Field-of-View – Lens dependant.

Range – Our entry level camera (IP3612) is a good quality unit of simple design produced to be price-competitive. The top-end unit (IP800WD+TDN) is a high-resolution camera with true day/night capability (moving optical filter), a vari-focal lens and wide dynamic capability providing clear images of subjects in both bright and dark areas within the same field-of-view. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 52dB, 520 lines of horizontal resolution in colour mode and 560 lines in B/W, this camera is truly high definition, out-performing even well-known rivals.
